National Ride to School Day 2020 - Registration Information

You are invited to join more than 350,000 students across the nation who will ride, walk, scoot and skate to school on Friday 13 March 2020 for the National Ride to School Day 2020 this Friday 13th March.

National Ride2School Day is Australia’s biggest celebration of active travel and one of the best days on the school calendar. It is a day full of fun and colour where students, teachers and parents discover the joy of riding and kick-start healthy habits for the future.
Ages: Year 4+ (Pre-Prep to Year 3 to be accompanied and supervised by Parent/Guardian)

Registration
1)     All Riders Bicycle Network https://www.bicyclenetwork.com.au/rides-and events/ride2school/ride2school-day/
2)     Students: Permission via Parent Lounge
3)     Support Staff. We need at least 10 helpers at designated road crossings to assist with the safety of the group. All volunteers are required to wear the provided high-vis safety vest. Traffic cannot be stopped.

Currently, we have put up posters and advertised on the MCC App for students to decorate their bikes and/or ride to school.  All riders are to check in at the Providence reception and register when they arrive at school and receive a drink/treat from the Parent Association. They will also be issued with certificates (the following week).  Junior school photos will be up on the screen at Assembly on Friday afternoon.

Bike Hire

Simply email Trace sport@mccmky.qld.edu.au (Mon-Wed) to organise a bike to loan. If you are hiring a bike, we suggest to either walk to the start location or get dropped off. We will bring your bike and helmet to the start for you.

Please use this link to volunteer. https://zachmach.volunteerlocal.com/volunteer/?start_over&id=47880. There are a number of roles to fulfil including riding with students, being a visible presence at road crossings for staff with cars, signage and transporting the College Bikes.

Proposed Schedule

7am Meet at Magpies Sporting Complex Carpark on Sweeney Street

8am Arrive Providence Campus. Kings Students will continue along the route to the Senior Campus.
