The Creative Academy is more than an instrumental program. It allows students to learn an instrument, workshop with specialists, rehearse and perform in a wide range of ensembles and showcase their talent in a systematic approach to ‘Concert’ programming. We believe this provides a well-rounded academic program for students who learn an instrument.
Students in Year 11 & 12 at Mackay Christian College are able to participate in the Drama Club. This club will be offered on a Thursday afternoon from 3:30pm until 5pm. During this time students can work on Eisteddfod performances, Theatre Sport events and gain insight into dramatic skills.

Senior Home Economics students enter the Student Festival of Fashion Competition every year and have had great success in achieving placements each year since becoming involved in the competition in 2002. At Mackay Christian College we provide practical outreach opportunities for students and staff to develop an understanding of the servant heart of Christ towards the poor and the lost while serving others, representing the beliefs, values and ethos of the College.

Students can participate in our Robotics program. The students meet at lunchtimes as well as after school to learn skills in building and programing robots using the Lego RCX or NXT programmable bricks.
